Pyramid Scheme Press 002

April 15th, 2010 - No Responses

Starting tonight on the Runier/ Hopeless tour. Available for sale for the first time is the second release for PYRAMID SCHEME PRESS

“AND THE BOAT SAILS ON” Ruiner and Break Even.  Photos from the road by James Hartley.

28 page High Quality Print zine ( Digital Offset not photocopy) hand numbered out of 300 copies.

This book is a documentation of the November 2008 tour of Ruiner and Break Even. As you may know, tragically upon returning to perth from this tour, Break Even guitarist Rowan Willoughby took his own life. This book has been designed as a way to remember Rowan, to get these previously unseen photos published and to remind everyone that life is fragile.

We need to look out for each other. And we need to talk about our own problems. There is often a weird stigma or taboo that goes with talking about depression. But the reality is that youth and young adult depression rates in australia are a constant threat. When things are dark, we gotta keep that Positive Mental Attitude.

All profits from the sale of these books is going to producing a pressing of “Cloud Street” which is the Solo Cd which Rowan had recorded. These should be available on the “id Rather be gigging” Tour later in the year when Break Even return from Europe

Across Australia on the Runier/ Hopeless tour. These books will be available for sale for $10 each from the Hopeless merch desk. Please check them out and support all the bands playing, if you are interested, pick up a copy.

For those in Perth or those who are not attending the Runier tour this time around. The zine will be available from http://www.pyramidschemepress.bigcartel in the next week or so. A limited edition pre order tee shirt may also be available, its still in the works. I will post updates once its sorted.

Thanks for all who supported the last zine, and i hope you enjoy this one just as much.

Peace Love and PMA

I have been digging through my hard-drive recently lifting photos for my contibutions to the Everfresh Studio book which we have been working on, Its coming along very nice, its been a cool process which has been great to look back at lots of old work from everyone here in the studio.

I decided that i would upload a few old snaps that are not going to make it in the book but i still like, either for nostalgic reasons of just cos i like the shots. You can read more about the process of the Everfresh Book on the site HERE . Enjoy!

Im excited to see this book finished. Stoked to be a part of it.

2010

January 15th, 2010 - Comments Off

I meant to post something in the first few days of the year being all ” here’s to a new year, fresh start etc etc bla bla bla” but then i was just too busy living. So here is two things from recently.

An antique style sign that i did as a christmas gift to my parents, and no they don’t own a fish and chip shop, just for looks.

An a quick little skull on the wall in the studio, its all looking pretty bombed at the moment, might be time for a full makeover soon.

Lots of projects underway, quite a few things that im keeping under wraps for now, but im starting a new job in a few days so hopefully ill have some different stuff to post up on here.

Happy New Year.

Mindsnare Reunion Show designs

December 17th, 2009 - No Responses

Was asked to do a flyer and some tees for a Halloween reunion show for Mindsnare, one of my all time favorite bands. I was stoked to do the work, but bummed that i would be away when the show took place. Then it turned out it would not work on that date, so it was pushed back till Dec 18. Thats tonight! so i thought i would post up the flyer which im stoked with, as well as the tees that i did for them, the photo of Matt tee never went ahead though. Just the skull skates rip off and the gasmasks tee. I also did a shirt for the band At An End, a young band who are stoked to be playing the show with Mindsnare. And im stoked to see the show, infact, im off to hang at the arthouse right now. Peace!

Mix Tape 2009

December 14th, 2009 - No Responses

So i did a lot of travelling this year.

All over the USA for three months, Perth for a few weeks, Toured in Europe for a month, went all up and down the east coast of Australia for 2 weeks, Back to the USA for 6 weeks. Basically had an amazing time all over. Whenever I travel i take my Ipod, its awesome how music can remind you so much of a certain place of time or event.

With this in mind i decided to create a mixtape and put it up for download. 30 songs that have been playing in my headphones while i walk the streets of New York, Drove the mountains of Switzerland, Ate from the bakery in Byron Bay, rode my bike through San Francisco and a million other things.

I just put this together to give people a chance to grab a random mix bag of tunes, hopefully find something they like, something they lost, or something they never want to hear again. This is like a taste tester i guess, so if you like them, you should support the bands on here that you can support (those that are still around and playing). They have all inspired me in one way or another.

You can download it at the below link, feel free to pass it on to whoever you wish. Seasons Greetings
